Stray Kids – Hollow: A Hauntingly Emotional Japanese EP
On June 18, 2025, Stray Kids dropped their third Japanese mini-album, Hollow - a five-track EP comprised entirely of original Japanese songs, marking a first since their debut in Japan. Produced entirely by 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin & Han), Hollow dives into feelings of emotional emptiness, loneliness, and connection, blending introspective lyrics with dynamic production.
Tracklist & Highlights:
Hollow – The title track fuses English and Korean - “hollow” and “홀로” (“alone”) - with emotive piano, electric guitar, and synth-pop to illustrate sudden emptiness.
Parade – A vibrant anthem later selected as the theme for the Japanese horror film Body Search: The Last Night, offering a bold contrast to the EP's darker tones.
Never Alone – A heartfelt reassurance expressed through tighter melodies and lyrical warmth - a musical embrace from the group.
just a little – A tender track requesting even the smallest bit of connection amid emotional voids.
宿命 (Fate) – A contemplative piece exploring destiny and how the past shapes our emotional present.
Theme & Feel
Hollow weaves between introspective darkness and hopeful connection. The title track’s exploration of solitude contrasts with songs like “Never Alone” and “just a little,” which offer comfort and togetherness. Overall, the EP traverses emotional landscapes - from emptiness to unity - grounded in cinematic instrumentation and profound lyricism.
Whether you’re drawn to its vulnerable depths or find strength in its comforting refrains, Hollow is a beautifully layered exploration of what it means to feel - and heal - together.
